The world in a single building

While the phrase “cultural diversity” may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Provo, the English Language Center at BYU is an incredibly diverse place that acts as a hub for international students who hope to become more efficient in the English language.

Located in the University Parkway Center, the ELC provides classes for students throughout the week that help them develop different skills in the English language, such as reading, writing, listening and speaking.

The Harris Fine Arts Center: A legacy that won't be forgotten

The fine arts can be found in every corner of Brigham Young University. Hymns precede the weekly devotionals. Sporting events are filled with fans singing the Cougar Fight Song after every BYU touchdown. Art lines the halls of campus buildings. While the fine arts can be found everywhere on the BYU grounds, the Harris Fine Arts Center has served as the heart for fine arts for more than half a century.

Streaming services challenge the future of movie theaters

In the future, going to the movies is going to be like going to the opera: a special occasion where you put on a nice suit and make an evening out of it. At least that’s what film critic David Sterritt said he remembers someone saying almost 20 years ago. Now in 2022, it doesn’t seem to be the most far-fetched idea.

“I’m not literally saying that,” Sterritt said about the opera comparisons. “But clearly things have been veering in that sort of direction for quite a while.”
